Affiliate Disclosure

Brokeradar is free to use because some brokers pay us when you open an account through our links. This page explains exactly how that works, how to spot those links, and why it does not change what we say about any broker.

The short version

  • Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and open a live account, the broker may pay Brokeradar a referral commission.
  • You pay nothing extra. The commission comes from the broker's marketing budget, not from your spreads or deposits.
  • Commissions do not change editorial scores, review text or the order of any guide.
  • Trading forex, CFDs and crypto carries a high risk of loss. A referral link is not a recommendation that trading is suitable for you.

1. How Brokeradar is paid

Brokeradar participates in referral (affiliate) programmes run by some of the brokers listed on this site. When you follow one of our tracked links to a broker and then open and fund a live trading account, that broker may pay us a fee. Depending on the programme, the fee can be a fixed amount per account, a share of the broker's revenue from that account, or a combination. The exact terms differ by broker and are confidential to the agreement.

Not every broker on Brokeradar has a referral arrangement with us. We review and score brokers with and without one, using the same methodology.

We do not sell reviews, paid placements or "featured" spots inside scored rankings, and brokers cannot pay to have negative findings removed.

3. How to identify an affiliate link

  • Every affiliate link carries the HTML attribute rel="sponsored", which is the standard way to tell search engines and browsers that a link is commercial. You can see it by inspecting the link in your browser.
  • Affiliate links open in a new tab and take you to the broker's own website. The address bar will show the broker's domain, often with a tracking parameter in the URL.
  • Each affiliate link also carries data-broker and data-placement attributes naming the broker and where on the page the link sits, so anyone can audit which links are commercial.
  • Outbound clicks on affiliate links are counted so we can report referrals accurately. This does not identify you personally; see the privacy policy for details.

4. Why commissions do not change scores or rankings

  • The Brokeradar editorial score is calculated from four documented pillars with fixed weights. Affiliate status and commission size are not inputs. The formula is public on the methodology page.
  • Guides are ordered by the unrounded editorial score. A broker that pays us nothing can and does rank above brokers that pay us.
  • Commercial arrangements are handled separately from editorial work. The person scoring a broker works from the methodology checklist, not from the commercial terms.
  • If a broker with a referral arrangement loses a licence, changes its fees for the worse, or is sanctioned, its score goes down and the review says why. The editorial policy describes the correction and update process.
  • We do not accept requests from brokers to remove or soften negative findings, whether or not they pay us.

5. Risk warnings still apply

A referral link means we may be paid if you open an account. It does not mean the broker is suitable for you, that trading with it is safe, or that you should trade at all. Forex, CFDs and cryptocurrencies are leveraged products and a large proportion of retail accounts lose money. Each broker publishes its own risk warning and loss percentage; read it before you deposit.

Brokeradar does not provide investment, tax or legal advice. Nothing on this site should be read as a personal recommendation. See the terms & conditions.
