Editorial Policy

The rules every Brokeradar review and guide is written under: who decides what gets published, how facts are sourced, how errors are corrected and how commercial relationships are kept away from editorial judgement.

Last updated: 2026-09-03

1. Editorial independence

  • Editorial decisions, meaning which brokers are covered, what is written about them and what score they receive, are made solely against the published scoring methodology.
  • Brokers cannot pay to be reviewed, to be included in a guide, to be ranked higher, or to have negative findings removed.
  • Brokers are not shown drafts and do not approve copy before publication. A broker may be asked to confirm a factual detail (for example a licence number); its answer is recorded as a broker statement, not as verification.
  • Editorial staff do not accept gifts, travel or hospitality from brokers. Any incidental contact is disclosed on request.
  • Commercial terms with brokers are handled separately from editorial work and are not an input to any review or guide.

2. Corrections policy

How to report an error

If you believe any fact on Brokeradar is wrong or out of date, use the contact form. Please include the page URL, the statement you think is wrong, and, if you have one, a link to the official source that contradicts it. Brokers and their representatives are welcome to use the same route and should identify themselves as such.

Response time

  • We acknowledge every correction request and respond with a decision within 5 business days.
  • Reports concerning regulatory status or client-money protection are prioritised and checked within 1 business day where possible, because those facts carry the most weight in the score.
  • If verification depends on a third party (for example a regulator responding), we say so and give an expected date.

How corrections are marked

  • A material correction, meaning one that changes a fact about fees, regulation, availability or a score, is applied on the page and marked with an "Updated on [date]" note stating what changed and why.
  • The page's last-checked date is refreshed at the same time.
  • Minor fixes (typos, formatting, broken links) are made without a note.
  • We do not silently delete content that was wrong; the correction note remains on the page.

3. Source-citation standard

  • Every factual claim about fees or regulation links to an official source: the regulator's public register, or the broker's own legal document or account specification page. Third-party articles are not accepted as sources for these claims.
  • Every such claim carries a last-checked date. If a claim has no date, treat it as unverified and tell us.
  • Statements are made at entity level, not brand level. A broker brand may operate several legal entities under different regulators with different protections. Reviews name the entity a statement applies to and the market it serves.
  • Broker-published figures are labelled as such. Anything Brokeradar has measured on a live account is labelled "Brokeradar-verified" with the date of observation. The two are never merged.
  • Variable facts are flagged. Where a figure depends on country, client classification (retail or professional), account type or a promotional period, the review says so instead of quoting a single number.
  • Absence is stated. If a broker does not publish a fee schedule or execution policy, the review says that it could not be found rather than leaving the field blank.

4. Review update policy

  • Every scored broker is re-verified at least once every 90 days. The review page shows the date of the last check.
  • A re-verification is brought forward when we learn of a material change: a licence change or enforcement action, a change of serving entity, a fee-schedule change, a platform being withdrawn, or a change in availability for a market we cover.
  • If a re-verification changes any pillar sub-score, the review carries an "Updated on" note explaining the change, and any guide ranking that broker is re-ordered.
  • A broker that can no longer be verified against a regulator register is flagged on its review page pending confirmation, and its Regulation & Security sub-score is capped as described in the methodology.
  • Guides show their own last-updated date. Guide dates are never set later than the oldest review they rank.

5. Conflict-of-interest statement

  • Brokeradar is funded by referral commissions from some of the brokers it reviews. This is a conflict of interest and we manage it rather than pretend it does not exist. The full statement is on the affiliate disclosure page.
  • Affiliate status is recorded per broker and is not visible to the scoring checklist. Guide order is determined by the unrounded editorial score alone.
  • Editorial staff may hold personal trading accounts with brokers covered on this site. Any such account that is used for live checks is used only to record observable facts (spreads, funding, withdrawal handling) and is disclosed on the relevant review.
  • Brokeradar does not accept payment for sponsored content, advertorials or "featured" placements presented as editorial. If a paid placement is ever introduced, it will be labelled as an advertisement and excluded from scored rankings.
  • Brokeradar does not provide investment advice and receives no remuneration tied to the outcome of any trade.

6. Authorship and accountability

Reviews and guides carry the name of the editor responsible for them. Editorial responsibility for this site rests with M.K, Founder & Chief Editor, who is accountable for the application of this policy and the scoring methodology.

Automated tools may be used to collect and format data (for example to fetch register entries or reformat fee tables). They are not used to assign scores, and no page is published without editorial review.
