Quick verdict

Is Exness a good broker?

Exness is a Seychelles-headquartered CFD broker that has grown into one of the largest retail forex brokers by trading volume. Its pitch is simple: very low minimum deposits on Standard accounts, some of the tightest published spreads on Pro and Zero accounts, and an automated withdrawal engine that processes the majority of requests without manual review. The trade-off is that most international clients are onboarded through offshore entities (Seychelles, BVI, Curacao) rather than the FCA- or CySEC-licensed companies, so the protections you get depend heavily on which entity contracts with you.

Brokeradar editorial score: 4.8 out of 5. How we calculate scores

Best for

  • Traders in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East who want a low minimum deposit and fast, fee-free withdrawals
  • Scalpers and algorithmic traders who value the Zero account's zero-spread instruments and low per-lot commission
  • Traders who want flexible leverage (including Exness's conditional 'unlimited' leverage on eligible offshore accounts)

Consider first

  • Retail traders in the UK or EU: Exness's own restricted list includes those jurisdictions, so the FCA and CySEC entities are not an onboarding route for most retail clients
  • Traders who need cTrader or a native TradingView connection (Exness offers MT4, MT5 and its own terminal)
  • Anyone who needs a statutory compensation scheme: offshore entities rely on Financial Commission membership rather than a government fund

Exness regulation by entity: which company will you actually trade with?

Exness lists eleven licences and registrations on its regulation page. That sounds impressive, but the important question is which legal entity signs your client agreement, because leverage caps, negative balance protection and any compensation fund all follow the entity, not the brand. Exness states that international clients on exness.com are served by Exness (SC) Ltd, the Seychelles company, unless a local entity applies.

The two 'tier-1' licences in the group, Exness (UK) Ltd (FCA) and Exness (Cy) Ltd (CySEC), do not currently onboard retail traders from the UK or EU on exness.com; Exness's list of countries it does not serve includes the UK and every EU member state we checked in our dataset. If you are in Kenya, South Africa, Curacao/Sint Maarten or another market with a local entity, Exness routes you to that entity and the local regulator's rules apply.

Investor protection and dispute resolution

Exness states that its offshore entities are members of the Financial Commission, an independent external dispute resolution body with a compensation fund of up to EUR 20,000 per complaint. This is not a government-backed scheme like the UK FSCS or the Cyprus ICF, so read the terms before relying on it. Exness also advertises negative balance protection and segregated client funds across its entities; our dataset records client fund segregation as 'yes'.

Exness fees and spreads by account type

Exness runs two pricing models. Standard and Pro accounts are commission-free with the cost built into the spread. Raw Spread and Zero accounts charge a per-lot commission in exchange for tighter (or, on the Zero account, zero) spreads on major instruments. Which is cheaper for you depends on the instruments and volume you trade, so we show both models below rather than picking one 'lowest cost' number.

Exness states that it does not charge inactivity fees, and that it pays third-party payment-provider fees on deposits and withdrawals. Swap (overnight) charges still apply on non-swap-free accounts, and currency conversion may apply if your account currency differs from the payment currency. Note that our broker dataset has an older row recording an inactivity rule after three months; the current Exness fees page states there are no inactivity penalties, and we treat the official page as authoritative until re-checked.

Exness minimum deposit

The Exness minimum deposit for Standard and Standard Cent accounts is published as $10 for most payment methods, though Exness notes the exact floor depends on the payment system and your country. Our dataset records $10 as the headline figure. Professional accounts (Pro, Raw Spread, Zero) require a first deposit of $200 as a baseline, and Exness states this can rise to as much as $3,000 in some regions.

Because the professional-account minimum is regional, check the figure shown inside the Personal Area after registration rather than relying on a third-party number.

Exness withdrawal methods, fees and speed

Withdrawal speed is Exness's strongest selling point. The broker states that deposits and withdrawals are available 24/7, that more than 98% of withdrawals are processed automatically, and that any request that is not instant is handled within 24 hours. In practice the time to see money in your account also depends on the payment provider: e-wallets and crypto tend to land fastest, while bank cards and wires depend on your bank.

Exness states that it covers third-party transaction fees so that clients pay no deposit or withdrawal fees on its side. Payment methods differ by country; our dataset records bank wire, credit and debit cards, Perfect Money and Skrill, and Exness's own pages reference crypto and a range of local payment systems. The full list, with limits and processing times, is shown in the Personal Area for your country.

  • Withdrawal fees: none charged by Exness (third-party fees covered, per Exness)
  • Processing: automated for the majority of requests; otherwise within 24 hours, per Exness
  • Methods recorded in our dataset: bank wire, credit/debit card, Perfect Money, Skrill; additional local methods and crypto vary by country
  • Anti-fraud rule: withdrawals normally have to go back to the method used to deposit, in proportion, before other methods can be used

Exness account types and leverage

Exness offers five live account types: Standard, Standard Cent, Pro, Raw Spread and Zero. The Standard and Standard Cent accounts are the entry points; Standard Cent uses cent lots so a $10 deposit behaves like $1,000 in cents, which suits practising with real money at very small size. Pro, Raw Spread and Zero are the professional tier and share the higher minimum deposit.

Leverage is set by the entity. Exness advertises leverage up to 1:2000 and, on eligible offshore accounts that meet volume and equity conditions, 'unlimited' leverage; our dataset records the headline as 'up to unlimited'. Leverage is reduced automatically around major news releases and outside core hours, and clients of the FSCA, CySEC and FCA entities are subject to their regulators' caps. Treat the headline figure as a maximum that applies only in specific conditions.

Exness trading platforms

Exness supports MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 on desktop, web and mobile, plus its own Exness Terminal (web) and the Exness Trade mobile app. Our dataset records MT4, MT5 and Exness Terminal. There is no cTrader offering and no native TradingView broker integration at the time of checking, which is the main platform gap versus brokers such as FP Markets and Tickmill.

Exness country availability

Exness does not accept clients from the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, EU member states, Singapore, Malaysia, New Zealand and a list of sanctioned countries. Our dataset holds the full restricted list as recorded at our last data update (see the 'Countries recorded as restricted' panel on this page). Availability can change when Exness opens or closes a local entity, so the registration form on exness.com is the final word for your country.

Exness FAQ

Is Exness regulated?

Yes. Exness operates through several licensed entities including Exness (SC) Ltd (FSA Seychelles, SD025), Exness (VG) Ltd (FSC BVI), Exness B.V. (CBCS Curacao), Exness ZA (PTY) Ltd (FSCA South Africa, FSP 51024), Tadenex Limited (CMA Kenya), Exness (UK) Ltd (FCA 730729) and Exness (Cy) Ltd (CySEC 178/12). Most international clients trade with the Seychelles entity, so check which company appears in your client agreement.

What is the Exness minimum deposit?

Exness publishes a $10 minimum deposit for Standard and Standard Cent accounts for most payment methods. Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts require $200 as a baseline and up to $3,000 in some regions, according to Exness.

Does Exness charge withdrawal fees?

Exness states that it does not charge deposit or withdrawal fees and covers third-party payment-provider charges. Your bank or e-wallet may still apply its own currency-conversion or receiving fees.

How long do Exness withdrawals take?

Exness states that more than 98% of withdrawals are processed automatically and that any non-instant request is processed within 24 hours. The time until funds appear depends on the payment method; e-wallets and crypto are typically fastest.

Which Exness account is cheapest?

For most retail traders the Pro account (spreads from 0.1 pips, no commission) is the lowest all-in cost on majors. High-volume scalpers and algorithmic traders may pay less on the Zero account, which has zero spread on Exness's top 30 instruments and a commission from $0.20 per lot per side. Compare the effective cost on the instruments you actually trade.

Can I trade with Exness from the UK or EU?

Not as a retail client on exness.com. Exness's list of unsupported countries includes the United Kingdom and EU member states, even though the group holds FCA and CySEC licences.
